Codex Purpureus Rossanensis: the presentation
Successful presentation of the new facsimile edition of the Codex Purpureus Rossanensis in the presence of the Archbishop, the publisher and the director of the Museo Diocesano e del Codex.
The promotion of the Codex has been the subject of a very important and complex project, started with the extremely accurate restoration of the manuscript. Then, in 2015, the Codex was included in the UNESCO “Memory of the World Programme” and the Museum underwent a complete renovation, commissioned by the Archbishop Mons. Satriano.
The new facsimile edition is a precious additional tool for the promotion of this unique manuscript: a perfect copy of the Codex is now available for scientific and exhibition purposes, granting at the same time both the possibility to see and study the manuscript and to preserve the original copy.
