Journey through the Dante Urbinate: Paradise, Canto I. The Light
Beatrice turns to Dante pointing toward the light. Next to Dante we find St. Peter and St. John the Baptist, recognizable by their attributes, who - together with other apostles - are intent on looking at the light.
"Ecco le schiere / del trionfo di Cristo e tutto il frutto / ricolto del girar di queste spare."
"Behold the legions of the victory of Christ and of the fruit / Collected from the turning of the spheres!"
(Canto XXIII, 19-21)
