Journey through the Dante Urbinate: Paradise, Canto XXXIII. The end of the Journey
The journey to discover Dante Urbinate is over!
The last scene of our precious manuscript shows Dante kneeling together with Saint Bernard. Through the intercession of the Virgin the poet has the privilege of being able to contemplate the mystery of the Trinity, and of God who moves the universe (XXXIII, 118-132).
"Ne la profonda et chiara subsistenza de l’alto lume parvemi tre giri di tre colori et d’una contenenza"
"There appeared to me in the profound and bright / Reality of that exalted light / Three circles, of three colors and one size."
(Canto XXXIII, 115-117)
Valerio Mariani.
